Oliver Miller, known as “Big O” during his play days, died at the age of 54.
Miller was a strong center that helped the Arkansas pass in the Final Four before playing nine seasons in the NBA.
Miller had fought against brain cancer.

Miller, who was held at 6 feet, 9 inches and weighed nearly 300 pounds, was out of competition at Arkansas from 1988 to 1992. He collected on average 12.2 points and 6.5 rebounds in four seasons, helping the team of the coach of the renowned temple Nolan Richardson to reach the Final Four before losing Duke and winning the honors of the South West Conference in 1991.
He was also part of the Phoenix Suns team who lost the 1992-1993 NBA final against Michael Jordan’s Chicago Bulls.

Tributes have flocked old Miller teams.
“We are deeply saddened by the death of the legend of Arkansas Oliver Miller,” said Arkansas in an article on social networks. “A key member of the 1990 Final team, a temple of renown of the SWC, a choice of draft of the NBA in the first round and a real embodiment of Razor’s mind. We love you Big O. Our thoughts are with his family.”
The Raptors, that he was on the very first Toronto list, said: “He occupies a special place in our history as a member of our inaugural team in 1995, and we are very grateful for all his contributions. We send our greatest condolences to the Miller family.”
Miller was drafted by Phoenix in 1992 with the overall choice n ° 22. He continued on average 7.4 points and 5.9 rebounds for the Suns, the Pistons de Detroit, the Raptors, Dallas Mavericks, Sacramento Kings and the Minnesota Timberwolves.
