Terrance Arceneaux has been a key contributor to the bench for the Houston Cougars in the last three seasons.
On Thursday, the second year guard revealed its intention to enter the transfer portal.
During the announcement, Arceneaux said that the decision was focused on “starting a new chapter in my university basketball trip”.

Arceneaux declared in an Instagram post in competition in Houston “was part of my story that I will always wear with me.”
“I move away without bitterness, just growth, gratitude and a clear vision of the place where I then head,” he added. “Sometimes the path to the lens requires a pivot, and I trust the process.”

Arceneaux has an average of 5.2 points per game with Houston. He played 17.5 minutes per match and dropped 2.9 rebounds per game in the past three years.

He collected on average 6.5 points and 2.7 rebounds in his last 40 games while Houston took place in the national championship match. He did not score a point during his eight minutes on the field during the match for the national title against the Gators of Florida.
So far, Arceneaux has been the Lone Cougars to enter the transfer portal from the championship.

Arceneaux appeared in just 11 games during the 2023-24 season due to an Achilles tendon injury.
Aside from the departure of Arceneaux, Houston is struggling with the loss of LJ Cryer, Jewan Roberts, Ja’Vier Francis and Mylik Wilson, who have exhausted their collegial eligibility.
The victory of Florida 65-63 against Houston on Monday gave the Gators their third male basketball championship of the NCAA.
