Michigan spartans’ male coach of the Spartans of Michigan, Tom Izzo, seemed to be upset by a question on the opening of the transfer portal on Tuesday while his team was preparing for the Sweet 16.
The NCAA transfer portal opened its doors on Monday, with several movements already made. While Izzo addressed the media about the next March Madness match of the team against Ole Miss, he naturally received a question on the portal but took a controversial tone.

He said he was “checked” that the journalist had asked him the question.
“I don’t have one at all.” And maybe we would have (place) if everyone was coming back. Maybe we wouldn’t do it. If you don’t have places, why are you doing this? So that I can do someone better?
“This is not a busy question, it is the one that I really have no interest in answering, because I think it is ridiculous that the NCAA or any other entity put these two things that people like you have to ask these questions. And I appreciate that you have to ask them. And I get angry when people talk to our children.

“I saw what happened in a school. The teams are fortunate to play in Sweet 16, and people enter the transfer portal. Children have to do what they have to do, and they really don’t do what they have to do.
Izzo later added that he was trying to focus on the preparation of Ole Miss and did not want to “deceive” his players.
Izzo is one of the largest university basketball coaches for all time. He has been working in the program since the 1995-1996 season and guided the team to a national championship in 2000.

Spartans have failed to reach the Final Four in recent years. The last time the team went so far, it was in 2019, when it lost against Texas Tech.
