Unprotected consumers using between 301 and 400 units per month will see the fixed charges increase by Rs 200 to Rs 400, while those consuming between 401 and 500 units will face an increase of Rs 100, taking the fixed charges to Rs 500 per month.
Similarly, the fixed charges have been increased from Rs75 to Rs675 for consumers using up to 600 units per month.
However, those consuming between 601 and 700 units will pay Rs 675 after a discount of Rs 125, while consumers using more than 700 units will also be charged Rs 675 after a discount of Rs 325.
However, lifebuoy consumers, using up to 100 units, will remain exempt from fixed charges.
