Dan Brown’s legendary symbologist / action hero has a new house at Netflix, with the streamer that adapts to adapt Robert Langdon’s next new book, The secret of secrets.
Adaptation was co-created by Brown alongside old Lost Producer Carlton Cuse, which will also serve as a showrunner, and marks the fifth live appearance of Langdon after three successful films and a somewhat forgotten peacock program.
The franchise started with The Da Vinci code In 2006, after the original novel of 2003 became a world Smash, selling more than 80 million copies and becoming the best -selling American novel of all time.
The film adaptation was carried out by Ron Howard and with Tom Hanks as Langdon, alongside Audrey Tautou, Ian McKellen, Alfred Molina, Jean Reno and Paul Bettany.
Despite mixed critical criticism, the film was a success with the public, generating $ 760 million worldwide and becoming the second largest film of the year (after Pirates of the Caribbean: breast of the dead manIf you are interested).
Two suites followed, with Angels and demons – Based on the first book of the franchise – arriving in 2009, and the late Hellbased on the fourth novel, Strike screens in 2016.
Howard returned to direct the two payments, but bad reception and disappointing results at the box office have seen the cinematographic aspirations for the franchise put in bed with the Hanks trilogy.

What can we expect from the secret of secrets?
While the iteration of Peacock served as a quasi-final for the films, Netflix seems ready to completely restart the franchise, neither Hanks nor Zukerman who do not resume their role currently (and it is incredibly unlikely that this does not change), and no involvement of Howard.
The novel will not be cleaner in September, so there are not a lot of amounts on what we can expect from the new series, but Netflix has teased: “In the next novel, Langdon, an estimated symbologist, the races against the old forces and time to save a missing scientist, whose final manuscript contains discoveries which have to always change the science of humidity. We know overviews of the novel that The lost symbolKatherine Solomon is likely to appear, previously played by Valorie Curry, while the parameters could include Prague, New York and London.
If the previous adventures of Langdon are something, we expect a world treasure hunt, cryptic puzzles and terrifying henchmen wrapped in a race against time with a final touch that will turn your head.
Anyway, it is probably an addictive series worthy of frenzy and potentially one of the best shows in Netflix, and I can’t wait to see who will be next to the Mickey Mouse watch strap.
