New budget to focus on education, health: Bugti

Quetta:

The chief minister of Balutchistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti, said that the next provincial budget will focus on the health and education sectors and that there will be no room for politically motivated development plans.

The CM made these remarks during the presidency of a meeting on Tuesday at the secretariat of the chief minister. The meeting examined the preparations for the next Balutchistan 2025-26 budget and the public sector development program (PSDP).

The meeting was followed by provincial ministers and parliamentary leaders of the coalition parties. Participants are involved in detailed deliberations on development priorities, the effective allocation of financial resources and initiatives aimed at public well-being.

During the session, the chief minister Bugti said that the coming budget would be focused on sustainable development and the real needs of the people.

He assured that the recommendations of the parliamentary committee would be carefully integrated into the final budget project to ensure inclusiveness and relevance.

He reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to transparency and responsibility, in particular in the use of development funds. BUGTI stressed that health and education would receive an absolute priority and that all efforts would be made to guarantee an allocation based on the merit of resources in all districts and union advice.

“There will be no room for politically motivated plans. Each area and each citizen of the Balutchys will be treated in an equal manner. It is my most important responsibility to guarantee transparency in the distribution of funds,” he said by addressing parliamentary leaders.

The meeting indicates an important step towards the finalization of a budget aimed at stimulating economic growth, improving infrastructure and extending social services throughout the province.
