A new period of rain and snow should start through Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) from March 9 to 16, which prompted the authorities to issue weather alerts.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the system will bring rain, thunderstorms and snowfall in mountainous areas, affecting the upper and plains of KP, Express News reported.
Provincial disaster management authorities (PDMA) of Punjab and KP have asked the district administrations to remain on alert and preemptive measures to avoid any unfortunate incident caused by strong precipitation or snowfall.
PDMA KP advised managers to ensure the availability of machines and resources in vulnerable areas. Meanwhile, farmers were invited to consider weather forecasts when planning agricultural activities.
Tourists visiting the northern regions were invited to check the weather and road closings before traveling. The PDMA assistance line is available for other advice on travel and security precautions.
The pleasant time spell continues through Punjab, including Lahore, leading to a gradual increase in temperature. However, the rain is expected in several districts in the province from March 12 to March 16.
According to the PMD, cloudy and sunny intervals will continue in most Punjab districts, including Lahore, today and tomorrow, but no rain is expected.
In Lahore, the minimum temperature should be 17 ° C, while the maximum temperature could reach 27 ° C.
