- Microsoft unveils new Copilot Chat AI tool

Microsoft continues its mission to put its Copilot AI platform in the hands of as many users as possible with a new extension.
The company announced Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat, an upgrade to its office software platform’s current free chat tool that will provide access to AI tools at no additional cost.
The move will mean everyone in your business can now get the most out of Copilot and AI agents, bringing workers at all levels up to date with the latest technology.

The new edition will provide a secure AI chat service powered by GPT-4o, with agents accessible directly in the chat.
It will be offered alongside the current $30 Microsoft 365 Copilot subscription, meaning customers can personalize their AI investment based on the needs of their workforce and agent access can be priced on a metered basis.
All of Copilot’s existing familiar features will be included in the new chat services, with users able to upload any document and then ask questions or ask Copilot to perform tasks such as summarizing or analyzing data.
You also have access to Copilot Pages, enabling greater collaboration within your company with colleagues and AI services, as well as the ability to create and add AI-generated images to spice up your presentations.
AI agents can be created directly in Copilot Chat using natural language, which will hopefully increase productivity and free up time previously spent on manual processes or tasks. Company-wide agents can also be created using Copilot Studio, with agents deployed to all workers who need them.
“Copilot Chat allows your entire staff – from customer service representatives to marketing managers to front-line technicians – to start using Copilot and agents today,” noted Jared Spataro, CMO AI at Work from Microsoft, in a blog post.
“In the future, every organization will have a combination of Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat and Microsoft 365 Copilot – our best offering – to drive AI transformation at scale.
