New MLB: Gofundme begins for a fan of the pirates who fell from the stands

A gofundme started in efforts to help pay medical costs for the 20 -year -old man who fell from the stands of a Pittsburgh Pirates match this week.

Kavan Markwood, a former university football player, was identified as the man who fell to more than 20 feet on the warning track of the right field.

Markwood returned the wall balustrade and came across the field in a match between the pirates and the Chicago Cubs.

The game immediately stopped while the medical staff sprout on the outside to find an immobile shirt markwood on the dirt of the warning track with visible blood on his face. The coaches of the two teams joined EMS to put it in a cart and out of the field.

Pittsburgh Public Safety said Wednesday later Wednesday that the fan was in critical condition.

A woman identified as Jennifer Phillips is listed as the organizer of fundraising.

Please always remember that this individual can be very special for many other people. Can you imagine what their loved ones are going through and transferred? [sic] I know this young man very well and I know he is very strong, but he also fights for his young life. Please be attentive during this tragic period. “”

Phillips said donations “will help all medical invoices and the financial difficulties that this family is currently experiencing”.

Markwood played for two division II football programs, Walsh University and Wheeling University. He played Wheeling in 2023, appearing in four games, according to the team’s website.

“I really hate what happened tonight,” McCutchen wrote on social networks. “I can’t help but think of this guy, family and friends. I pray this evening for him. Think about his loved ones and show our families a little tightened this evening. I hope he shoots through. God bless you all. Good night.”
