New rain spell expected before Eid, says the Met Office

The Pakistan Meteorological Department predicted widespread rain, thunderstorms and possible thunderstorms in several regions in the days preceding Eidull Fitr.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said that wet fate is expected between March 25 and 27, affecting the upper and power -off areas, the snowfall planned in the mountainous regions.

According to PMD, the showers will probably strike Biner, Dir, Malakand, Swabi, Charsadda, Abbottabad and Peshawar from March 25 to 27. Other regions, including Karak, Lakki Marwat, the North and South Waziristan, and Dera Ismail Khan, could also feel the rain, hail and snowfall in the upper altitudes.

Islamabad, the Potohar, Murrier and Galiyat region should also receive light precipitation and snowfall between March 25 and 27. Meanwhile, the Punjab center will see rain showers dispersed during the same period.

In the Sindh, dust storms are probably on March 25 and 26, while certain parts of Balutchistan – including Quetta, Ziarat, Zhob, Musa Khel, Shaman and Mastung – should receive rain.

The Met Office also warned against thunderstorms and hail, which could damage the power and solar panels, while the landslides remain a risk in the hilly areas due to moderate to strong precipitation.

PMD issued an alert concerning severe creases in superior Punjab, Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which could harm standing cultures, especially wheat. Strong winds and hail can also cause structural damage in affected areas.

The authorities advised residents and farmers to take precautionary measures before the expected meteorological disturbances.
