The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has planned a new rain spell across the country from Monday.

According to the PMD, a western meteorological system is expected to enter Pakistan, bringing precipitation in various regions. Hail storms are probably in Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad.

The department also predicted snowfall in northern areas during this period, the rain scheduled for cashmere and gilgit-bertan on February 25.

In addition, the PMD warned of sudden floods and the risk of landslides in hilly areas. Tourists were advised to avoid unnecessary trips for security reasons.

Meanwhile, Karachi is likely to experience a mainly cloudy sky, bringing cooler conditions compared to the previous days.

According to the Met Office, Karachi will see variable wind instructions over the next three days. Winds in northeast Balutchistan are expected during the night and early in the morning, while southwest sea breezes will dominate the afternoon.

Residents are advised to be prepared for sudden changes in temperature and visibility, especially during early hours that fog can have an impact on traffic.
