- The game is under the working name of “Project Chamber”.
- Apparently, it’s slated for a 2028 release window.
New details on a potential remake of Resident Evil 0 have surfaced, with the project apparently bearing the working title “Project Chamber.”
As MP1st reports, sources close to the outlet have revealed details about the remake’s potential cast, expanded story, and release window. The name “Project Chamber” is also probably derived from Resident Evil 0 protagonist Rebecca Chambers, with events taking place just before her arrival at the original resident Evil Spencer Manor.
According to MP1st, the name “Project Chamber” first appeared on actor Jon McLaren’s resume, although it appears to have since been removed. So definitely take this information with a pinch of salt. McLaren’s most notable video game role was as Star-Lord in Square Enix. Guardians of the Galaxy, although he also provided voice work for Far cry 5.
THE Resident Evil 0 The remake’s motion capture would be handled by Beyond Capture Studios. This is the same company that Capcom has worked with on mocap for other RE Engine titles, including Street Fighter 6 and the Resident Evil 4 remake. McLaren’s potential role is not yet known, but the most likely candidate would be Billy Coen, Resident Evil 0 common protagonist.
Not much is known about the potential remake’s renovated plot. But MP1st mentions that new characters will be introduced. Resident Evil 0 begins on a train that has crashed due to a zombie outbreak. In the remake, a new character will be the train driver, according to the media. It appears they won’t have a particularly large role, but it’s worth noting that they will, at one point, lock Rebecca in a room full of zombies in order to escape on their own.
Finally, according to insider DuskGolem on X/Twitter, the Resident Evil 0 the remake is apparently aiming for a 2028 release. So that’s pretty far away, but we could see another remake before then in the form of Resident Evil: Code Veronica. DuskGolem mentions that this remake is targeting a release in the first quarter of 2027, so about a year after next year’s. Resident Evil Requiem.
