- New video gives us a closer look at the Samsung Galaxy triple from every angle
- You can see it has large bezels and a separate cover screen
- It also has the same camera layout as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7
Not long ago, Samsung gave the world an official look at its upcoming tri-fold smartphone, but the device was in a display case and visibility was limited. Now, however, a South Korean publication has released a video offering a closer look at the phone, although still hands-off.
OMG Electronics and SubusuNews (via NotebookCheck) have released a YouTube video, which you can see below, showing – among other things – just how thick the bezels around the Samsung Galaxy’s tri-fold display appear to be.
The bezels feel much thicker than on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 or other high-end phones, which is disappointing considering this is probably one of the most expensive handsets on the planet. However, this is Samsung’s first attempt at offering a tri-fold handset. It is therefore likely that later versions will have a more refined design.
We can also see from the video that the two foldable screen sections fold inwards, meaning that when folded, the main screen is hidden and protected. It’s similar to Samsung’s approach on the Galaxy Z Fold series, but different from the tri-fold Huawei Mate XT, which folds in such a way that a third of its screen can act as a cover screen.
This means the Mate XT’s screen is less protected, but it also means it doesn’t need a separate screen cover, whereas the Samsung Galaxy Trifold has a separate screen cover.

Big screens and slim build
In any case, other details presented here include the fact that the cover screen apparently measures 6.5 inches, while the foldable screen is said to measure 10 inches.
You can also see that when unfolded, the Samsung Galaxy Triple may be even thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 7 at 4.2mm, but when folded it seems slightly thicker than that phone’s 8.9mm. This isn’t surprising, though, since the Galaxy triple has three sections instead of just two.
Finally, the Samsung Galaxy tri-fold’s triple-lens camera layout appears more or less identical to that of the Galaxy Z Fold 7, so it’s possible that the included lenses and sensors are also the same. In this case, the upcoming phone would have a 200 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide and a 10 MP telephoto camera, with 3x optical zoom. You can also see that it has a punch-hole camera on the foldable and cover screens.
However, we still don’t know most of the Samsung Galaxy tri-fold’s specs, nor its price, nor even its name – although a leak suggests it could be called Samsung Galaxy TriFold.
All of this will likely be revealed soon, however, as having been heavily showcased (and having passed Bluetooth certification), it’s likely a full launch is imminent.
