Only a few weeks have passed since the New York Jets revealed their intention to pass from Aaron Rodgers.
“…. We met Aaron and shared that our intention was to go to a different direction in the quarter-Arrière,” said head coach of the newly hired jets Aaron Glenn and Managing Director Darren Mougey in a joint statement on February 13.
Glenn was in Indianapolis this week for the annual NFL scouting combination, where he recognized that the decision of the franchise to separate from the veteran quarterrier left “upset” jets.

Quinnen Williams was one of those who seemed to disappear the departure of Rodgers, with a defensive player of the Pro Bowl three times using an emoji on social networks after the news. Williams also wrote: “Another year of reconstruction for me, I suppose”, on X, formerly known as Twitter, in an apparent reaction to the jets’ decision.
Glenn said he had a private discussion with Williams on his reaction. He also clearly indicated that the priority of the jets was to win football matches.

“Yes, I told him,” Glenn told journalists. “And listen, I understand the reaction of the players, but I will say this: each decision that me and [general manager Darren Mougey] Doing is winning and winning now.
“So, I understand, but again: listen, it will not be the last decision that I make that will upset some people, and it is ok. But as men, we are talking about it. We make sure to keep it internally, and that’s what we will continue to do.”
After his campaign in 2023 was interrupted by injury, Rodgers played the 17 games last season. While he finished with 28 affected against 11 interceptions, his overall performance does not seem to meet the expectations of the jets.

The jets finished with a 5-12 file. Mougey also addressed reports that Rodgers received an “Ultimatum” on his appearances on “The Pat McAfee Show”.
“I would say this – there has never been an ultimatum or commitment rules for Aaron to potentially join the jets,” said Mougey. “It never happened. AG and I had a lot of dialogue, a lot of conversations, a lot of good thoughts and I just felt, at the end of the day, it was the best thing for the jets, to go in a different direction in the quarter position.”
Rodgers has not yet made public comments on his break with the jets. Mougey said the team expects to designate the Super Bowl winning callal appeller as a June 1 Cup. This decision allows jets to divide the salary ceiling reached over a period of two years.
Also with the combine harvester, Glenn has doubled his statements from his introductory press conference on the fact of presenting a high volume of questions related to Rodgers.

The release of Rodgers leaves the quarter-backing room of the thin jets. The veteran replacement Tyrod Taylor remains under contract with the team. Glenn described Taylor as “a good player”, but has stopped declaring him as the team’s starter for 2025.
The jets currently have the n ° 7 choice in the NFL draft next month.
