A member of the Washington Nationals Grounds crew was not as fast as it should be during the late Saturday rain at the Nationals Park.
The rain started to fall into the first round of an aimless match between the Nationals and the New York dishes.
The match started later than expected due to the bad weather, but the conditions forced the game to stop shortly after its start.

But shortly after the crew on the spot was invited to bring out the tarpaulin, a person narrowly avoided what could have been a serious injury.

This crew member of the land seemed to lose his balance, and his momentum brought him forward and on the tarpaulin when he was rolled on dirt on the ground. The other members of the crew temporarily continued to deploy the tarpaulin, which led to the roller of the waterproof cover on the back of the man.
The rain period lasted less than an hour. Once the action has resumed, the receiver of the Francisco Alvarez dishes hit a two-point circuit during the second round to give New York a 2-0 lead. The dishes kept this head in the eighth round.

The game also marked the first series of the former Washington star, Juan Soto, in Nationals Park as a member of the dishes.

Soto spent the first 4 seasons of his MLB career with the Nationals. He was exchanged at the Padres de San Diego in August 2022. Soto struck 41 career circuits during his only season with New York Yankees in 2024.
He changed the districts of New York during the offseason, exchanging thin stripes for the Blue and Orange dishes. When Soto agreed to join the dishes, he signed the most lucrative contract in the history of North American sport. The 15 -year -old agreement would have been recorded $ 765 million.
The Nationals participated in the competition on Saturday in fourth place in the NL East, while the dishes sat in first place in the division.
