For the first time in his career in the NFL, Brock Purdy will have another quarter coach.
The 49ers of San Francisco announced their coach staff on Tuesday for the 2025 season, and Brian Griese was not in staff as a quarter coach.
The reason for the absence of Griese of coach staff is because he has decided to end his coach career after three seasons, according to San Francisco Chronicle.

Griese, 49, played a decisive role in the 49ers writing Purdy, because he gave the old quarter of the state of Iowa his first year of all quarters of the 2022 draft, despite the last choice of the draft.
Griese, then the assistant coach of the Klay Kubiak quarters spoke with Purdy via Zoom in a pre-tapest interview.
“I know that we appreciated the fact that Brock was altruistic,” said Griese via San Francisco Chronicle. “He was humble. Relationships had him. You can say fairly quickly if a quarter-back is to raise other people around him. Or if he is him.”
In addition to his altruism and leadership, Griese also very well thought of the precision of Purdy.
Griese almost moved away after his first season coach, but after weighing family considerations, he decided to come back.

Now, two seasons after initially thought of stopping, Griese left the team.
Griese has transmitted a head coach interview with the New York Jets for their head coach position which is more sold earlier during the offseason, and now it is logical to know why he jumped on the interview.
The 49ers promoted Mick Lombardi, a senior attacking assistant from the team last year, in the quarter coach. Lombardi was the offensive coordinator of Las Vegas raiders for two seasons.
Griese played in the NFL for 11 seasons, winning a Super Bowl with Denver Broncos in 1999. Griese also did the Pro Bowl in 2000.
During his 11-year career, Griese achieved 83 career departures and was 45-38, launching 19,440 yards with 119 affected and 99 interceptions in his career.

After his playing career, Griese was an ESPN analyst for 12 seasons and joined the 49ers coach staff directly from the stand.
The 49ers failed last season, going 6-11 and last in the NFC West after doing the Super Bowl the previous season.
The team will turn to Purdy to help design a turnaround, but a quarter will have to do without Groese by his side.
