Aaron Rodgers wasn’t about to make any major revelations about his playing future on Wednesday.
Rodgers, who is set to become a free agent next week, appeared on “The Pat McAfee Show” and was gingerly asked about his thoughts on potentially playing in Grade 22.

“Anyone who expects me to make a big decision, turn it off now,” the four-time NFL MVP said. “Leave.”
McAfee asked if the possibility of playing for Mike McCarthy again was something he had thought about. McCarthy was named head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers after Mike Tomlin resigned from the position in January.
“We’re sitting here. It’s March 4. Free agency starts in a week,” he said. “I spent a lot of time with my wife. We went on a ski trip. I was just keeping a low profile. There’s a lot of other things going on with the Malibu situation that has changed some things.

“I’ve talked to Mike, I’ve talked to Steelers general manager Omar Khan. There’s no deadline set for me. There’s no contract offer or anything. There’s nothing I have to debate between. I’m a free agent. And again, I’m enjoying my time with my wife and I’m enjoying this part of the offseason. I think there are conversations to be had down the line. There haven’t been of progressive conversations.
Rodgers led the Steelers to a playoff berth with a 10-6 record. He totaled 3,322 passing yards and 24 touchdowns.

But he only signed a one-year deal with the Steelers. He made this decision on June 9, 2025, after his time with the New York Jets ended. He doesn’t seem to be in a hurry to make a decision about his future.
