The New York Jets star, the right-wing garnish, Alijah Vera-Tuker, has torn his triceps and will be absent for the season, said head coach Aaron Glenn on Thursday.
Vera-Tuker, 26, suffered the injury in practice on Tuesday. He will undergo surgery and faces a seven -month rehabilitation.
“He was a great player for us, but we have to continue continuing,” said Glenn to journalists on Thursday.

Glenn said he was still assessed who would take the place of Vera-Tuker in the starting training. Xavier Newman is listed as the right guard of the team backup.
Joe Tippmann, who started in the center in the past two seasons, could take his place at the right guard, and Josh Myers could play in the center. Tippmann and Myers were in competition for the center position throughout the training camp.
The two are listed as possible starters on the team’s unofficial depth board this week and Glenn said they were still in competition.
Vera-Tuker has played each position on the offensive line except in the center since its recruit season.

The jets selected Vera-T-Tuker with the overall choice n ° 14 in the draft of the NFL 2021. The former star of the University of Southern California was productive on the ground, but missed time throughout his four-year career.
In 2022, Vera-Tuker was placed on IR at the end of the season after seven games because of a torn triceps. In 2023, a torn Achilles tendon limited it to only five games.
Last season, he played 15 games, missing two with ankle problems. Vera-Tuker missed 25 games due to an injury in her career. He started the 43 games in which he appeared.
Vera-Tuker was elected as one of the six captains of the Jets team in late August for the first time in his career.

“Throughout my career, I did not have the opportunity to do so,” said Vera-Tuker about her increased leadership role, via the team’s website.
“So, more and more now, I take advantage of these opportunities to be a vocal leader and to direct not only O-Line, but also the offensive and the team, so it’s cool. You never know when this game could be removed, so you have to take advantage of it.”
