The New York Jets Justin Fields jets was transported on the ground during camp training after suffering an apparent injury to the lower leg on Thursday.

Fields, 26, signed a two -year contract worth $ 40 million during the offseason to replace Aaron Rodgers.

Fields has undergone an injury to the toes, but it is too early to determine the severity of the injury, the jets chief, Aaron Glenn, told journalists after training.

Glenn added that Tyrod Taylor is ready to take over if necessary.

Fields appeared in 10 games for Pittsburgh Steelers last season and started six. The team went 4-2 to its departures while it finished 65.8% of its passes for 1,106 yards with five affected and an interception.

Fields was also effective in the racing game, because he wore the ball 62 times for 189 yards and five touched on the ground last season.

While Fields did not play badly, the Steelers put him in the bench after six games in favor of Russell Wilson.

Taylor, 35, has played in the NFL for 14 seasons, started 58 games and has a record of 28-28-1. Taylor appeared in two games last season with the jets and finished 17 to 22 assists for 119 yards and three affected.

In 2023, Taylor began five games for the New York giants and had a 2-3 sheet when he finished 64.4% of his passes for 1,341 yards with five affected and three interceptions.
