The Dallas cowboys acquired Joe Milton from the New England Patriots during the offseason to add more depth behind the quarter-Arrière leaving Dak Prescott for the 2025 season.

Milton spoke brilliantly about his new Cowboys teammates and made a blow in the locker rooms of the Patriots in the process. New England selected Milton in the sixth round of the NFL 2024 draft, and it was in a quarter room with Drake Maye and Jacoby Brissett last season. Jerod Mayo was Patriots’ head coach last season.

“Dak is a big leader. All the respect for him. He literally does everything possible to help me, no matter if the coach speaks during the meeting, he literally does his best to help. I was in another building. I know how it goes. It’s just very different here,” said Milton on Friday, via The Athletic.

He said he “preferred” to have a new start somewhere.

“It was something that me and my team assembled. They could do it, I really didn’t have to do much or to say much. So, cry about my agent, that’s about it.”

Milton only appeared in a match for the Patriots last season.

He had 22 out of 29 with 241 yards by the pass and a pass of a touchdown. He is considered to have a massive potential, if he never gets a shot to become a starter in the NFL.

Milton is expected to be a rescue quarter before the regular season behind Prescott. Will Grier is split at QB3.

Prescott will seek to stay healthy for Dallas. He only managed to play in eight games in 2024.
