Shedeur Sanders may have been “caught slipping,” but everyone is safe – and so are their most important valuables – after his home was broken into earlier this week.
As Sanders made his NFL debut on Sunday, three masked suspects broke into his home and stole $200,000 worth of property.
However, it wasn’t a dollar of her jewelry, Sanders said.

“I’m in a mental state now where there’s not too many things that could confuse me, honestly. And none of my jewelry was stolen, anyway,” Sanders said in his first comments about Wednesday’s theft. “So, you know, it’s just a slip-up. You know, it happens.”
Sanders said his phone has blown up since the robbery and he has been unable to chat with many people, including his father, Deion Sanders. Reporters asked Sanders if his father or brother would come to the game against the Las Vegas Raiders, and he responded that the only way to get in touch with him would basically be to attend the game.

“I talked to Shilo. Shilo called me, but I said, ‘Brother, right now, if you want to talk, everybody come on. Come see me, brother. I’m not trying to be on the phone. I’m not trying to do all that. If you want to talk, call me. Then we can talk from there,” Sanders said. “Other than that, I don’t even check my phone. Too many people text me, “Are you okay?” Yes I’m dong well. I wasn’t robbed, my house was.”
Sanders said that despite the scary situation, he was in a “great place” “mentally and emotionally.”
“In life there will always be adversity. Things won’t always go as planned, but I would say I’m ready for anything,” he said.
A report from Officer Charles Johnson said three suspects ransacked a bedroom, searched nightstands and closets and used cell phone flashlights as they moved around the house. Footage reviewed by investigators showed the trio leaving the house and carrying several bags before disappearing into nearby woods.

In the Browns’ 23-17 loss, Sanders entered the game after starter Dillon Gabriel suffered a concussion. Sanders went 4-for-16 for 47 yards with one interception. He was also fired twice by the Ravens.
