Super bowl champion Tyrann Mathieu announced his NFL retirement on Tuesday in an article on social networks.
Mathieu, 33, has spent the last three seasons of his 12 -year career with the New Orleans. Mathieu was known the “Honey Badger” throughout his career.
“While I hang up my crampons, I am filled with gratitude while I close this chapter of my life and I officially withdraw from the game that shaped me in all ways,” wrote Mathieu in his article.

“From my first snap to college to my last game in the NFL, this trip was nothing less than a blessing. Football gave me a goal, a discipline and memories that will remain with me forever. But more than anything, it gave me a community.”
Mathieu burst into the stage as an electrifying player during his college days in Lsu. He finished fifth in the Heisman trophy by voting as a defensive back off competition in the second year.
During this second season in 2011, Mathieu had 76 combined, 1.5 bags, two interceptions, nine defended passes, six forced escaped and two recovery escaped for the affected.
However, in August 2012, Mathieu was launched from the team for failing drug tests continuously for the consumption of marijuana. In October 2012, Mathieu was arrested for possession of marijuana.

Although he was extremely talented, Mathieu fell in the third round of the 2013 NFL recovery because of his problems outside the field before the Cardinals of Arizona select it.
Mathieu ended up becoming a star for the cardinals because he was appointed to an All-Pro team twice during his five years with the team.
“To all the coaches who believed in me, all the teammates who fought next to me, and all the fan who presented themselves, applauded and rolled with me through the ups and downs, thank you. You gave me strength when I needed it most, and your love took me further than I never imagined,” wrote Mathieu.
Mathieu spent a season with the Houston Texans, then joined the Chiefs of Kansas City. Mathieu was an integral part of the winning team of the Super Bowl des Chiefs in 2019.

The three -time professional professional spent three seasons with the chiefs before spending the last three seasons with the saints.
Mathieu played 180 games in his career in the NFL, and had 838 combined plated, 11 bags, 36 interceptions, 100 defended passes, seven forced escapes and eight escaped recovery. Four of his interceptions were returned for affected.
