Tennessee Titans veteran, Rusher Edge, Lorenzo Carter, retired a few days before the training camp start, the team announced on Tuesday.

Carter, 29, signed a one -year contract of $ 1.4 million with the Titans during the free agency before the 2025 season. But according to the director general of the Titans, Mile Borgonzi, he only informed the team of his decision to retire on Monday – only two days before the start of the training camp.

“He informed us yesterday that he would retire,” said Borgonzi, according to the team’s website. “So we wish him good luck.”

Carter played in the NFL for seven seasons after the New York giants selected it in the third round of the 2018 NFL draft in Georgia.

The Rusher Edge spent the first four seasons with the Giants before joining his hometown of the Falcons of Atlanta for the last three seasons of his career.

Carter started 62 of his 96 career games in the NFL. He only started two of his 15 games during his recruit year, but after that, he became a regular starter with the Giants.

In four seasons with the giants, Carter had 153 combined plated, 14.5 bags, interception, 15 defended passes, five forced escapes and four escaped recovery.

After his four -year -old passage with the Giants, Carter signed a one -year contract of $ 3.5 million with the Falcons. Carter began the 17 games that season and transformed this into a $ 9 million contract over two years the following season.
