Baker Mayfield has the Buccaneers of Tampa Bay has a 3-0 sheet in the first three weeks of the 2025 NFL season, but Sunday’s victory over the New York Jets seemed to mean more for the quarter.
Mayfield made the Buccaneers allowed Chase McLaughlin to hit a 36 yards basket for the victory after the secondary of the Will McDonald IV jets recovered a goal at the field on the previous disc and returned it for a touch to give advance to New York.

McLaughlin nailed the kick and Tampa Bay won the match, 29-27.
Mayfield said that after the match, the victory was personal for him given that it was the defensive coordinator of the Jets Steve Wilks who cut him while the two were with the Panthers of Caroline.
“I loved it,” he said, beating the jets. “In addition, their (defensive coordinator) was the one who cut me in Caroline. So, many things were personal today. Haason Reddick, former jet – a lot of people.”

Wilks was the panthers head coach when the team decided to go from Mayfield in the middle of the 2022 season. He joined the Los Angeles Rams a day later and achieved a performance to remember on a short rest.
The Buccaneers gave him a shot in 2023 after Tom Brady’s retirement. He beat Kyle Trask for the starting work. During his first season at Tampa Bay, he was a professional professional player for the first time in his career. He also obtained a sign of the Pro Bowl head in 2024. During the two seasons, he exceeded 4,000 yards by the pass.
Mayfield now has the Buccaneers at the NFL top in the first three weeks of the season.

He had 19 out of 29 with 233 yards by the pass and had a pass of a hit in Mike Evans.
