“Jobs that weren’t good jobs before are good jobs now,” he told On3 Sports on Wednesday. “Lane is the first name proposed for Florida and the first name proposed for LSU, but I think you can have a long debate about whether either of those jobs are actually better than the one he has right now, because he has guys there at Ole Miss who give him pretty much everything he wants from a roster standpoint. He may not necessarily have the same thing at Florida or at LSU.
“So you see these jobs differently now.”
Kiffin was Alabama’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach from 2014-16 under Saban.
Saban has been adamant about his disdain for what the college football coaching carousel has become. He focused on the advent of name, image and likeness, with money being the main topic of discussion when it comes to recent changes.
“You know, I’m not (surprised) because everyone is raising money to pay the players,” Saban told ESPN earlier this month. “So people who donate money think they have a voice and they’re like a group of fans. When they’re frustrated and disappointed, they pressure (athletic directors) to do something, and that’s the way the world goes.”
