Popular morning show host and former actress Nida Yasir has asked for forgiveness, saying she is “a human, not an angel” and that humans sometimes fail to properly express what they feel or intend to say.
The TV personality said the same thing happened with her when she shared a “bad experience” regarding food delivery people.
“My mistake was making the wrong choice of words,” she said, adding that such lapses are possible in everyday conversations.
Nida, who once again found herself at the center of controversy, said she was extremely sorry and never intended to hurt anyone.
So what exactly happened?
During a live broadcast, while discussing issues related to home delivery services with a guest, the morning show host criticized delivery workers for deliberately not carrying change on them to “swindle” customers out of extra money.
“Food delivery people will never get change. You can tip them anyway, but for those who lie about not having change, I make them wait while my driver goes to get it,” she said, proudly describing her way of “teaching the delivery men a lesson” by delaying their next deliveries.
Her remarks not only offended people in the industry, but also sparked online criticism from netizens, who accused Nida of lacking empathy for underpaid workers who spend long hours trying to make ends meet.
Meanwhile, others argued that Nida’s interpretation was wrong because delivery apps explicitly inform customers to keep the exact amount on hand when placing orders.
After days of online buzz, Nida finally responded to the criticism, insisting she never intended to hurt anyone or target the entire biker community. She added that the error occurred “during a live broadcast, not recorded,” where it could have been edited or clarified.
She said she shared her “bad experience regarding runners” but should have clearly mentioned that “some runners” have a practice of not keeping change, not the entire community.
“I’m not here to hurt anyone. I appear on screen as I am and I have emotions just like anyone else. I’m a human, not an angel, and sometimes we fail to express in words what we have in our hearts, and it is interpreted differently.”
She concluded by directly addressing the runners watching her, saying she wanted to sincerely apologize.
“I repeat that not all runners are like those I referred to. It was just my experience, and it was never my intention to overlook their struggles or hurt them. Please forgive me for my mistake,” she added.
