The Pakistani security forces killed nine activists in an intelligence operation in the Takwara region in Dera Ismail Khan late Sunday evening, the media wing announced on Monday.
According to inter-service public relations (ISPR), among people killed were several terrorists, including Shireen, a high-value target and a militant ring manager, who was sought for his involvement in several terrorist attacks.
Shireen had also participated in the targeted murder of civilians and was responsible for the martyrdom of Captain Hasnain Akhtar.
The army said the troops launched the RAID according to the confirmed information concerning the presence of activists in the region. A fierce exchange of fire followed, in which the activists were “sent to hell,” added the press release.
Weapons and ammunition have been recovered from the site.
Disinfection operations are underway in the vicinity to ensure that no other activist remains, said the ISPR, reaffirming the determination of Pakistan to eliminate terrorism from its soil.
Last week, the security forces killed six terrorists in an intelligence -based operation (IBO) in the Kalat district in Balutchistan.
The army’s media affairs wing said the security forces had led an IBO in Kalat, Balutchistan, on the reported presence of terrorists.
“During the conduct of the operation, his own troops actually hired the location of the terrorists and after an intense fire exchange, six terrorists were successfully neutralized,” said ISPR press release.
He noted that killed terrorists have been actively involved in “recent terrorist activities” in the region against law enforcement organizations as well as innocent civilians.
