The security forces killed at least nine terrorists sponsored by the Indians in three separate operations carried out in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the army media wing said on Sunday.
According to a press release published by the public service public Relations (ISPR), an intelligence-based operation was carried out by the security forces in the Dera Ismail Khan district, on the presence of terrorists sponsored by the Indians.
“During the conduct of the operation, the own troops actually hired Khwarij [terrorists] Location, and after an intense fire exchange, four Khwarij sponsored by India were sent to hell, “said the statement.
Another intelligence operation was carried out in the Tank district and in exchange for fire that followed, two other terrorists sponsored by India were killed.
During the third meeting which took place in the general area of Bagh, in the Khyber district, the troops managed to neutralize three other terrorists, said the ISPR.
Weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from killed terrorists, who have been actively involved in many terrorist activities in these regions.
Disinfection operations were carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the region, as Pakistan security forces “are determined to eliminate the threat of terrorism sponsored by the country’s India,” said the declaration.
Pakistan has witnessed the increase in terrorist incidents since Taliban leaders returned to Afghanistan in 2021, especially in the bordering provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baloutchistan.
However, the first quarter of 2025 saw promising trends in the Pakistan security landscape, the deaths of activists and insurgents exceeding the cumulative losses of civilians and security forces.
Its main conclusions, published by the Center for Research and Security Studies (CRSS) revealed in particular fewer fatal losses among civilians and security forces compared to the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2024 and a reduction of almost 13% of global violence, the news reported.
Despite progress, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balutchistan remain epicentres of violence, representing 98% of all deaths, attacks pushing more daring and evolving militant tactics, including the unprecedented diversion of Jaffar Express.
The projections warn against more than 3,600 deaths by the end of the year if the current trends persist, potentially making 2025 one of the deadliest years in Pakistan.
Individually, Balutchistan underwent 35% of all deaths during the period during examination, and compared to the last quarter, it recorded an alarming increase in violence by 15%. The comparison does not take into account the overvoltage recorded in other provinces / regions because the number of deaths remains very low.
