Nintendo has filed a patent for a new Joy-Con Switch 2 attachment which seems to transform your controller into a fishing coil.
Spotted for the first time by Nintendo Patent Watch (via the polygon), the patent shows two joyful parts 2 which seem to be a crank and a clickable wheel.
The crank is described as a mounted input device that would use mouse sensors to follow the movement and the magnets to secure the fixing.
The clickable wheel would also use magnets to stay in place, and its rotation would be followed by mouse sensors. The attachment also seems to have a second button to press the right shoulder of the console (SR).
Presumably, this attachment could be used for a range of games with fishing mechanisms such as Animal crosspiece: New Horizonsor a potential Kuru Kuru Kururin Revival and Date of play Ports, while nintendo patents look at the theorized.
A completely new game for the Switch 2 that Nintendo has not yet announced is also a possibility.
Although the patent application was published recently, it was filed in February 2024, which suggests that Nintendo has been working on the new accessory for some time, with the compatibility of Switch 2. That said, it should be kept in mind that not all patents consider the day as an official product.
