- Nintendo has updated the discovery of the Switch eshop to filter the cheap “shovelware” games
- ESHOP graphics have been reworked to show how sales are calculated, classifying games according to sales income in the last 72 hours instead
- The Best Sellers tab now shows games “with the highest sales in the last three days”
Nintendo has discreetly updated the Nintendo Switch eshop and the operation of graphics by filtering cheap and “sold” games.
This change comes from the update of the most recent switching system in preparation for the launch of Nintendo Switch 2 next month, but has been neglected due to the other significant features of the patch.
As spotted by VGC, eshop graphics have been reworked to show how sales are calculated. Before the update, the digital showcase counted the number of games sold in the last 48 hours and classified them in the graphics, but it now classifies games according to sales income in the last 72 hours instead.
In addition, before the update, the Best Sellers tab has shown software titles “with the most downloads in the past two weeks”, but it now shows games “with the highest sales in the last three days” (via GVG).
Nintendo has essentially changed the operation of the discovered on the eshop, including in the current offers tab, bringing its best -selling software to the foreground and filtering “shovelware” games that obstructed the store.
This change also means that the cheap games that take place will not automatically go to the top of the graphics because of their low prices, prioritizing larger and more popular titles.
However, it seems that finding new independent games will be a little more difficult. The Discover tab of the store mainly offers first group Nintendo titles, while other tabs have been organized to what is popular, such as AAA games at full prices, and what is sold the most.
In case you have missed it, the Nintendo Switch 2 will be launched on June 5, 2025, for $ 449.99 / £ 395.99 $ 499.99 / £ 429.99 Mario Kart World pack.
British pre -orders and American pre -orders are now live.
