In order to increase the production of the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo has teamed up with Samsung Electronics Co. to help make main chips for the console.
As Bloomberg reported, Nintendo turned to Samsung to create a personalized processor designed by Nvidia for Switch 2, using its 8 nanometers node, so that it can accelerate production.
Sources indicate that with this new partnership with Samsung, the pace should be fast enough for Nintendo to send more than 20 million switching units by March 2026.
It is also said that Samsung can increase more if necessary, although it would depend on the capacity of material assemblers like Foxconn Technology Group.
Samsung, which also manufactures memory chips and display components for Nintendo, would have been in competition with Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing CO (TSMC) to make chips, a company that also associates with Apple and Nvidia.
With his new Nintendo contract, he said that Samsung hopes to develop his activities and get more land.
The president of Nintendo Shuntaro Furukawa said that the company planned to sell 15 million switching consoles 2 during its launch window. When asked by the investors why the forecast number was so low, Furukawa said that the company had set the figure “in order to reach the same level of sale that we have reached with Nintendo Switch”.
It also attributed the high cost of the Nintendo prediction console, but said its rear compatibility and software bundles would increase sales before the end of the first exercise.
The Nintendo Switch 2 was launched worldwide on June 5, 2025, for $ 449.99 / £ 395.99. British pre -orders and American pre -orders are now live.
If you have failed to secure pre -order and find it difficult to find actions, GameStop and Best Buy have announced that they would react Switch 2 units in store and online when launching the console.
