- The Nintendo Music ‘library has developed with songs from Tetris, Dr. Mario and Kirby and the Forgotten Earth
- It is an important expansion for the music service, which comes with a Switch online subscription
- The drop occurs before April 2, 2025 Nintendo Direct
We are a few days before the next Nintendo Direct – which takes place on April 2, 2025 – which is highly anticipated because it will be fully focused on the Nintendo Switch 2. Hopefully it will highlight the price, the set of functionalities and the very important launch titles.
In the head, Nintendo has abandoned new tracks for its Nintendo music application and, as reported for the first time by NintendolifeUpdated an assistance page teasing a larger update from the autonomous application arriving in October 2025.
Nintendo included pieces of classics Tetris and – a personal favorite – Dr. Mario in the drop of March 2025. He also included some tracks of Kirby and The Forgotten Land, a title Nintendo Switch. It is not Kirby’s complete soundtrack, however, suggesting that we could get another drop.
To watch
Even if it is not all the songs of Kirby, a more substantial drop for the service is appreciated. Nintendo Music is essentially an Apple Music music streaming service or Spotify dedicated to music from the Nintendo universe.
All your favorite songs from Mario Kart, Animal Crossing and countless other titles are easily accessible for your listening pleasure via an application for Android and iOS – if you have an online subscription Nintendo Switch.
Now on the Updated assistance pageNintendo clearly indicates that an update arrives in October 2025:
“Your data, such as your reading lists, will be saved even after canceling your Nintendo Switch subscription online. We are planning an update around October 2025 which will allow you to use certain Nintendo musical functions, such as the possibility of modifying, sharing or deleting your reading lists, even after canceling your Nintendo Switch subscription online. “
Since the update promises more social and management features even if you are not subscribed, Nintendo could change the requirement for a Switch Online subscription to access the musical streaming service. It is nice to see that all your content – think of the reading lists – will be saved if you interrupt your subscription.
It could be to prepare the way for changes to access to Nintendo music or even to relocate access and streaming of songs. Time will tell us, but who knows, Nintendo could even better integrate the service with a wider update of its online offer or with the next Nintendo Switch 2.
Time will tell us, but for the moment, you can enjoy a few sweet tunes from Kirby and the Forgotten Earth, Dr. Mario, or countless other titles via the Nintendo Music application if you are a Switch online subscriber.
