Fromsoftware revealed that its exclusive title Nintendo Switch 2, Duskbloodswas originally developed as an original switching game.
One of the biggest surprises of the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct was undoubtedly the announcement of Duskbloods. It was not launched before 2026, but a new vocal interview of a new creator with the director Hidetaka Miyazaki offered new information on the game and how she became an exclusive Nintendo in the first place.
According to Miyazaki, the multiplayer game was created by a small team for the Switch before it was ultimately going to be developed for the Switch 2, allowing the studio to enjoy the new console equipment.
“Some time ago, we had the opportunity to meet Nintendo to discuss ideas, and during this discussion, we presented an approximate overview for Duskbloods“Said Miyazaki.
“It was still very naked at the time-more a series of loose ideas than an appropriate presentation. The concept itself was different from all that we had done before, and Nintendo seemed very interested to make it a reality. It was then that the project launched.”
“At first, he was worked by a small team as a title for Nintendo Switch,” he continued. “However, just when the game started to take shape, we were approached by Nintendo with Talk of Switch 2, which led us to reorganize our development path with this new material in mind.”
Miyazaki added that the new online features of Switch 2 are also authorized from software “to remain as faithful to the original vision as possible, which was very good news for us”.
The Nintendo Switch 2 will be published on June 5, 2025, for $ 449.99 / £ 395.99, with pre -orders that should open on April 8.
It has also been announced that Elden ring will arrive at the console this year alongside new exclusive Switch 2 titles as Mario Kart World And Donkey Kong Bananza.
