NJ transit engineers started their strike overnight on Friday morning, affecting hundreds of thousands of shuttle.

Although the number of travelers decreases a typical post-countryic Friday, there are two huge sporting events in New York on Friday evening that a large piece of participants will have to find another route.

Friday is launching the Subway series between the Yankees and New York Mets in the Bronx, and it is not uncommon for the residents of the New Jersey to take the train to Penn Station.

From there, fans can take the metro, because the B, D and 4 trains all stop famous at E 161st Street – Yankee Stadium.

The Bronx Stadium can contain more than 52,000 fans, including Standing Room, and with the rivalry of the cross city, the number of fans will undoubtedly approach this number. Some courageous souls, however, will now have to opt to be an designated driver.

However, driving in the Bronx is certainly not the worst option.

Maybe the much more difficult trip on Friday evening will now be at Madison Square Garden for match 6 between the Knicks and the Boston Celtics.

Although the arena can only contain a third of the capacity that the Yankee stadium can, MSG is practically directly above Penn Station, in the middle of Manhattan, where driving is already painful.

If the Knicks win, it goes without saying that the fans will arrive on the street to party, just as they did after most of the playoffs. The seventh avenue was closed after their victory against Boston in match 4.

Friday is the last Knicks match in MSG until at least Wednesday, but if Boston wins on Friday, then match 7 on Monday, the Knicks season is over. However, the Subway series launches a six -game homestand for the Bronx Bombers which extends until Thursday.

To top it off, Shakira and Pitbull are organizing a concert at the 82,500 -seat Metlife stadium, which has its own NJ transit station on Friday.

It is estimated that nearly 270 million passengers take a transit of the NJ each year.
