No case of polio reported since February 10, the PM Shehbaz informed

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was informed Thursday that following the national anti-political campaigns on a national level, no case of polio had been reported in the country since February 10.

Chairing the examination meeting on the eradication of polio, the Prime Minister congratulated the efforts of relevant government institutions, international organizations and partners to make Pakistan without Polio.

He ordered the competent authorities to ensure awareness-raising and community mobilization concerning the anti-political campaign across the country.

“You have to make sure that each child under the age of five is administered the polio vaccine during the anti-political campaign from April 21,” he added.

He stressed that in parallel with the campaign, the immunization of routine at the national level for the protection against other dangerous diseases should also be fully assured.

“Despite difficult conditions, workers participating in the anti-political campaign play a front line role in the fight against this disease,” said Prime Minister Shehbaz, adding that the whole nation, including itself, was proud of workers’ workers.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister was informed of the next anti-political campaign of April 21 to 27, during which 4.5 million children will be administered to the polio vaccine.

A total of 415,000 polio workers will participate in this national campaign. The meeting was also informed that, in accordance with the Prime Minister’s instructions, the validation of third parties of the campaign will be completed from April 28 to April 30.

In addition, monitoring the cold-to-political campaigns is monitored in a digital system.

The Minister of National Health Syed Mustafa Kamal, Special Representative of the Prime Minister on Polio Ayesha Raza Farooq, the Sindh Minister of Health, Dr. Azra Fazal, the chief secretaries of the four provinces, Azad Jammu and Cashmire (AJK), and Gilgit-Baltistan, representatives of international partners and other sentences relevant have attended the meeting.

Two days ago, Kamal urged the public to reject false unwinding ideas on the polio vaccine, claiming that if diseases like cancer have treatment options, polio has no healing and can only be avoided by a timely vaccination, The news reported.

The Minister noted that Pakistan remains one of the only two countries in the world, with Afghanistan, where polio continues to circulate.

“We have noted that six cases of polio so far this year. Many wastewater samples in different regions are still positive for poliovirus,” he said.

He stressed that the next Drive anti-political, scheduled for April 21 to 27, would vaccinate more than 45 million children across the country. “More than 400,000 first -line workers will be gateway to the door to administer drops of oral polio. The government will ensure their safety,” said Kamal.

He rejected the common myth that vaccination against polio has religious implications or damage.

Kamal reaffirmed that this year’s campaign would be synchronized with the efforts of Afghanistan, maximizing the impact between the two borders. “For the first time this year, Pakistan and Afghanistan will start and end the campaign together. This is an important decision.”
