The chief of the staff of the army (COAS), General Syed Asim Munir, said on Monday that no hostile conception could undermine the determination of the armed forces of Pakistan, as Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on May 10 as a national day to observe each year as “ Youm-E-Marka-E-Haq ”.
Marka-e-Haq refers to the wider conflict with India from April 22 to May 10, while “Bunyanum Marsoos” is the name given to the operation on May 10, during which Pakistan swore justice and retribution.
Inter-service public relations (ISPR) said that the military chief had visited the Military Hospital (CMH) Rawalpindi to inquire about the well-being of soldiers and civilians injured during Marka E Haq and Operation Bunyanum Marsoos.
Gen Asim Munnir stressed that no hostile conception could erode the resolution of the armed forces. “The value and sacrifice of our civilians and our soldiers are the cornerstone of Pakistan security. The whole nation is united in solidarity to each member of its armed forces,” he said.
The army chief noted that the resolute and unified response exposed during Marka E Haq / Operation Bunyanum Marsoos “, in concert with the firm support of the Pakistani people, constitutes a determining chapter of the country’s military history,” added the ISPR.

In a major political announcement, Shehbaz said that families of martyred civilians during the operation would receive 10 million rupees each, while the injured civilians would be granted between 1 million rupees and 2 million rupees each, depending on the seriousness of the injuries.
For martyred military staff, the government would provide 10 million rupees to 18 million rupees to families, depending on the rank. In addition, on the basis of the rank, 19 million rupees at 42 million rupees would be brought as an aid to housing to the families of the martyrs.
The families of the martyrs would continue to receive a full salary and allowances until their scheduled retirement date; In addition to the children of martyred soldiers are entitled to free education in obtaining the diploma, and a daughter of each martyr would receive an RS1 million marriage subsidy.
The Prime Minister said that military staff injured during the operation would receive between 2 million rupees and 5 million rupees each. He also announced that the federal government would bear spending on treatment for all injured, both civil and military.
