The parliamentary secretary in finance, Saad Waseem Sheikh, reassured the National Assembly on Friday that the government does not intend to impose additional taxes.
Speaking during the time of questions from the National Assembly on Friday, Sheikh said that the government did not intend to introduce additional taxes, highlighting the efforts to achieve the income recovery objectives of the year.
Meanwhile, the Minister of State for Information Technologies, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, expressed his confidence that the new telecommunications entities soon enter the Pakistan market.
She confirmed that Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) had already started to issue virtual network licenses, paving the way for increased competition in the telecommunications sector. She added that a spectra auction is scheduled for the middle of the year, further strengthening the telecommunications landscape.
In other updates, the parliamentary secretary for planning and development, Wajiha Qamar, announced the completion of the first phase of the seventh census of agriculture, which aims to support the enlightened decision for growth from the agricultural sector.
In addition, the parliamentary secretary for education, Farah Naz Akbar, shared that the Cambridge education system will be presented in four schools in the Islamabad public sector from April, marking a pilot project for future expansion.
