No relaxation of tensions in Torkham

Peshawar:

The Afghan Taliban and the Pakistani security forces embarked on Tuesday in a heavy skirmish on the Torkham border on the second consecutive day, leaving two Taliban soldiers who died and six injured.

People living near the border in Afghanistan and Pakistan began to cancel their homes due to shooting on both sides. Pakistan authorities have also advised people living near the border to take precautionary measures.

The Pakistani security forces and the Afghan Taliban fighters exchanged fire on Torkham’s main border crossing on Monday, after their failed talks to reopen the crossing.
