Independent auditors have put the safety infrastructure of all NordVPN applications under the microscope again, showing the supplier’s continuous commitment to transparency, confidentiality and security.
The results of the security audit are involved, in fact, only a few weeks after the best VPN supplier in Techradar has also proven its allegations of non-roars with third-party control.
The main audit company Cure53 has carried out a series of tests on all NordVPN office applications, mobile applications, browser extensions and certain key features. Experts found a total of 31 results – although none of them is critical – that the North team mainly set at the time of the editorial staff.

Experts from Cure53 made a mixture of penetration and source code reviews between June and August 2024, for a total of fifty-five days.
As mentioned above, NordVPN (Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS and Android VPN) applications) and browser extensions (Chrome, Edge and Firefox) were not the only technology to be inspected. Auditors have also dismantled the protection of NordVPN threats, the protection of pro and meshnet threats.
Cure53 found a total of 31 results, 22 being classified as security vulnerabilities (with some high classified) and new as general weaknesses with lower operating potential.
“This security assessment has revealed a high number of problems. However, given the wide range included in the treatment of cure53, and the major attack area it has encompassed, a higher number of problems was to be expected,” noted listeners in their final report, sharing recommendations to solve these problems.
At the same time, however, the listeners observed that “the system used several deemed libraries, notably NGHTTP2, OpenSSL and Boost”, which are known for their stability and their safety.
For their part, NordVPN has hosted the Cure53 suggestions and has already applied a correction for most problems, which has also been checked by Cure53.

Independent assessments like this allow us to continuously refine our technology and stay ahead of emerging threats,” said CTO NordVPN Marijus Briedis, ensuring that the team has quickly implemented all the necessary improvements to ensure the highest level of protection for users.
Despite the results, explains the supplier, the latest Cure53 assessment confirmed that NordVPN applications are built on a solid security foundation because no critical problem has been found.
Security audits are involved while the supplier has confirmed his allegations of non-lugarithm for the fifth time since 2018 in February. In this case, Deloitte experts inspected the configuration of the NordVPN server and the relevant IT systems to guarantee that data related to user activities are never recorded as indicated in its privacy policy.
