Emergency measures are underway and authorities have launched a search operation in Mir Ali

In Mir Ali area of North Waziristan, a government primary school was destroyed in an overnight blast, affecting more than 600 students and disrupting education in the area.
In Mir Ali tehsil of North Waziristan, unknown armed assailants blew up the government primary school in Ayaz Kot area of Khushhali village late last night. The explosion destroyed a large part of the school building.
According to Ministry of Education sources, more than 600 children were enrolled in this school, which was the only primary institution operating in the region. Authorities have cordoned off damaged sections of the building and are considering alternative arrangements to continue education.

Local elders and parents have expressed concern over the attack, highlighting its impact on children’s education. A local elder said: “This school was the only beacon of hope for children across the region. Its destruction shocked us all.
Security officials said the area had been cordoned off and a search operation was underway. No group has claimed responsibility. The district administration termed the attack as an anti-education act, adding, “Such attacks hamper peace and development in the region, and those responsible will soon be brought to justice.”
Police sources said evidence has been collected and the bomb disposal unit’s report is awaited to determine the type of explosive used. Initial findings indicate the explosion may have been triggered by a remote-controlled or timed device.
