“Not appropriate for SC to prohibit HC’s affairs”

Islamabad:

The chief judge of Pakistan (CJ) Yahya Afridi said that high lessons are autonomous institutions and that he is not appropriate for the high -level court to intervene in their affairs.

Judge Afridi made this comment Thursday at a meeting with a delegation of associations of the Multan and Jhang district bar in Islamabad.

According to the official press release published after the meeting, the chief judge welcomed the delegation, which underlined the questions related to the lack of communication and coordination between the High Court of Lahore (LHC) and the bars associations in Punjab.

Judge Afridi said that high lessons are independent institutions and that it would not be appropriate to interfere in their business. However, he suggested that the question could be discussed with the LHC chief judge, judge Aalia Neelum.

The CJ discussed the representation of bars councils in the Pakistan law commission. He also informed the delegation of the next meeting of the Commission.

He also informed the delegation of training programs carried out under the Federal Judicial Academy, declaring that the details of these programs are available on the Academy’s website.

The CJ has also provided information on access to the Justice Development Fund and encouraged the members of the bar to apply for help as part of this initiative.

During the meeting, the delegation extended an invitation to the chief judge to visit the bars of the district.
