Get ready to see Taylor Swift break a new streaming record, as two new projects are set to land on Disney+ this Friday, December 12.
In addition to The tour of eras | The final showwhich documents the very last Eras Tour show that took place in Vancouver last year, there is also Taylor Swift | The tour of eras | The end of an era look forward.
What you need to know about Taylor Swift’s latest show and docuseries Eras
Look on it
It’s safe to say that The end of an era will not be a comprehensive expose of anyone or anything. As you will know if you have seen Swift Folklore documentary (for the record, it’s also on Disney+), expensive documentaries produced by big pop stars don’t do this.
Instead, you can expect a pretty brilliant promotional exercise that will give you an insight into how the tour was put together and why everyone involved had the time of their lives. That’s not a bad thing either: it’s a show for the fans, so why not satisfy them?
However, I think The Eras tour | The final show is going to be a lot more interesting for most of us. The previous film — it’s one of my favorite concert films — was filmed before the release of “The Tortured Poets Department,” Swift’s latest album, and before its songs were added to the tour playlist. One of the new Disney+ films for December includes songs from said album, so it will be fascinating to see how they were performed for the stage.
As Swift posted on Instagram: “We wanted to remember every moment leading up to the culmination of the most important and intense chapter of our lives, so we allowed the filmmakers to capture this tour and all the stories woven throughout it, and film the final show in its entirety.”
As mentioned, Taylor Swift | The tour of eras | The final show comes to one of the world’s best streaming services on December 12 at 12:00 a.m. PT / 3:00 a.m. ET / 8:00 a.m. GMT. Episodes 1 and 2 of The end of an era will be released the same day, with two more two-episode bundles arriving on December 19 and 26.
