Even if they’ve been out for almost a year, I always put myself about the ear and no ear (A) as if they were the new hot gadgets in the block. But it is time to stop dwelling on the past, even if a model ranks among the best wireless headphones and looks towards the future.
Given that he publishes new headphones of all time, a Santa Claus of usual music, it seems likely that the technology company will not prepare a new pair of earphones for 2025 – especially since this company is now paid with a large British kef and several audio products provided for the release this year.
The company operates with an exasperating lack of a numbering system from the ear (2), so I’m just going to call them the ear (2025) in order to make this article at least a little easy to read.
At the time of writing the editorial time, the only signs we have on a new set of ear brand buds and a low -budget companion are the advice on the KEF link. So here is what I want to see in the new buds, in the absence of concrete leaks on the features. I tested the two 2024 models – as well as the Nothing Ear (open) – and I will learn from it for this list of wishes.
No ear (2025): Cut in pursuit
- What is this? The new generation of anything headphones
- When could he throw? Probably later in 2025
- How much could it cost? Standard for about $ 150 / £ 130 / $ 250 in, the cheaper version (A) for about one third less
Nothing ear (2025): Exit date and predictions
Until now, we have examined the annual Nothing versions; The ear was released in April 2024 and the ear (2) (which came before the ear, despite the name) was released in March 2023.
Nothing said that it worked on a pair of over -earners for the release probably later this year, but has said nothing about new headphones specifically – only that it has several new audio products from its partnership with Kef.
Based on the annual cycle, I expected to see the new headphones already. It is possible that the release of September 2024 of Nothing Ear (Open) led the company to push its calendar a few months, so let’s hope that the new buds will come in the middle of the year, or perhaps towards the end.
And what about the price? We did not hear anything on this front, but nothing did not do much to change the cost of its buds between the generations. The ear costs $ 149 / £ 129 / $ 249 at, while nothing ear (a) cost $ 99 / £ 99 / $ 192.

Nothing ear (2025): what we want to see
I reviewed the Nothing Ear for Techradar and I used (A) during the best of the year now like my “standard” headphones. So here is what I would like to see about a new and improved version of the duo:
1. A new ear nothing (a)
If, like me, you think that nothing ear (a) are some of the best headphones that you can buy right now, you may be alarmed to know that there is no guarantee that a new version of this model will come back.
In all honesty, there is no reason for a new ear of nothing (a) won’t Get out, but don’t forget that 2024 was the first year that we saw an affordable alternative (A), according to the company’s trend (A) smartphones. It is therefore not a type of recurrent product guaranteed to come back.
I hope this is the case, however, because the Nothing Ear (A) has become the budgetary headphones that I also compare its rivals – and some updated in 2025 could wipe the ground with competition.
2. A longer battery life
My main reproach with the ear nothing in my review, which I also group myself when I use the ear (A,) is that neither has a particularly impressive battery life.
For the context, you get about five hours of listening with the standard model and an additional half hour with the (a) – the two figures while the ANC is lit. According to my personal standards, everything that is less than six hours is lower – I really like to see eight hours on the list of specifications.
You may be wondering who listens to music for 8 hours in a row – but I think you would be surprised. In other words, after all, the duration of an average working day, and this is the time you may want to listen to if you travel or work on something that requires audio.
More than once, the ear (a) no longer has any juice when I need it: once by bus in my hometown, another time in the afternoon of a working day.
So I would love to see that the new headphones of nothing offer a little more listening time before I failed to be able.
3. Improved cases

The two ears and nothing (a) came with cheap plasticky load boxes. I can excuse (a) – the case is incredibly small and the products are themselves cheap. But this is not quite the case with the flagship device.
The Nothing Ear case creaks a little in the hand, a real symptom of cheap plastic, and it does not seem particularly high to hold. This is just a case, you are not supposed to train too much, but nothing is the decision to use transparent fronts in order to mention the nostalgia for style gadgets of years whose case design is important.
I have tested much more expensive headphones that come with cases that seem more premium, generally due to the material or texture, for example the Sony WF-C510. Nothing should take notes.
4. A slightly higher volume
I know that the interest of active noise cancellation, or anc, is to allow you to hear your music without you having to do a hearing volume. But to be pumped, you sometimes have to play your songs aloud, and none of the 2024 ear products allowed this.
It is not that I had a hard time hearing music (most of the time), just that the headphones never let me pass the volume to 11 – it is also a problem that I had with the buds opened later in the year. Come on, let’s push this decibel to count a little.
5.
They say that beggars cannot be selectors, but I am about to choose a premium feature that I want to come to affordable headphones.
A major difference between the Nothing ear (A) and his premium brother is that the latter had a solid personalization function – it was an easy test that created a personalized audio mixture based on your unique sound sensitivities. I tried it and I loved it.
Of course, a lack of features in nothing ear (a) is the price you pay … well, do not pay prices. But it’s been a year – let the buyers at a budget take advantage of them now too. And maybe the high-end model will have a new flagship feature to attract people.
6. Fun colors on the high -end model

I have been writing on technology for more than six years now, and maybe the most common complaint I have done about anything is how gadgets are too often available in two boring color options: white or black. I want color!
Fortunately, the Nothing Ear (A) is one of the rare exceptions of the Funky color buds, coming in a yellow option that obviously I love it. But if you don’t like yellow, you’re going to stay blue.
I would love to see some other color options (color, as technological nerds call them) available in future generations. Admittedly, nothing is reluctant to color products, judging by its phones, but it offers its CMF brand gadgets in some more dynamic shades, so maybe it’s time to draw inspiration from this budgetary range.
7. Keep the equalizer
Nothing indicates that nothing will change the equalizer in its Nothing X application … but I can see why he wanted.
The equalizer Notheing X is quite naked according to industry standards – many competitors offer eight or 10 bands, allowing you to change your sound profile to the wire. However, nothing offers one in three bands so that you can change bass, triple and mid, and that’s it.
Many audiophiles will find it insufficient, but I think it is apart from the point – a simple equalizer like this is really easy to use for people who are not audiophiles, and this gives them a way to personalize their music without having to sit through endless YouTube tutorials on what the different parameters do. So I would like to see nothing to keep this feature in the same way.
