Nottingham Forest took to social media around 20 minutes after Saturday’s 3-0 defeat to Chelsea to announce that the soccer The club left manager Ange Postecoglou after just 39 days in charge.

“Nottingham Forest Football Club can confirm that following a series of disappointing results and performances, Ange Postecoglou has been removed from his role as head coach with immediate effect,” the statement said.

“The Club will make no further comment at this time.”
Forest remained winless in eight games under Australian boss, who has just replaced Nuno Espirito Santo on September 9.

Postecoglou’s tumultuous tenure follows another exit from another English football club in June, when he was fired by Tottenham despite ending the club’s 17-year drought with a Europa League final victory over Manchester United.
Poor results, including a 17th place finish in the Premier League – Tottenham’s lowest since the competition’s inception in 1992 – paved the way for the move.

According to ESPN, Postecoglou’s 39 days with the club are the second shortest in Premier League history.
