- NVIDIA RTX 5090 had problems with the latest graphic driver
- There are many reports that GPUs are no longer recognized by PCs after installing the pilot
- The problem could be wrapped in PCIe 5.0 compatibility
The new NVIDIA graphic pilot, which provides support for RTX 5090 and 5080 GPUs, has caused problems with games, and in addition to that, there are now reports from some owners of blackwell flagship graphics card ‘They encounter serious difficulties.
We must clarify from the start that the spectrum of the cast iron of the cables which struck the RTX 4090 is not a thing With the RTX 5090, despite certain rumors that have recently circulated. These reports completely obtained the bad end of the stick (or the power connector, rather).
These fresh bugs apparently affecting the RTX 5090 mainly concern the GPU which does not work (without being recognized by the PC), moreover with an assertion that two of these Nvidia graphics cards have been broke (published on Goofish). Apparently, part of the problem here is a “very small probability” of “burning” internal components although the translation may well be a problem here, I should note. In addition, we should be very cautious towards these particular anecdotal relationships at this stage (I will come back to this shortly).
While Videocardz reported, these problems apparently hit some RTX 5090 buyers, as well as those who bought an RTX 5090 D in Asia (the variant of the flagship designed for this region).
Although almost all of these reports have surfaced in Asia – appearing on Chiphell, Baidu and Bilibili, as noted WCCFTECH – and involve manufacturers of graphics card such as MANLI or colorful, there are two problems reported on Reddit Owners of an Asus RTX 5090 (the original poster and a follow -up for follow -up in this wire).
It should be noted that RTX 5080 graphics cards are not affected by these apparent problems.
Analysis: PCIe compatibility of problems?
What’s going on here? Well, it is difficult to undo, and for the moment, we must give Nvidia the benefit of the doubt, at least with regard to tales of the RTX 5090 graphics cards in a way – take this with a entire tas of seasoning.
However, problems with the new graphic driver causing recognition of the RTX 5090 system certainly do not seem very real. Indeed, this problem was observed in certain flagship reviews, and it is something that could be wrapped in PCIe 5.0 compatibility.
The solution for some, as indicated in the Reddit wire with the Asus RTX 5090, is to go to BIOS and take place at PCIe 4.0 instead. Yes, this will mean a slight loss of performance, but it is not such a important fall (and it will only be temporary hope, because when things are stuck, you can go back).
This Drop to-PCIE-4.0 plan does not help everyone, however, and the trick did not work for the RTX 5090 belonging to the original poster on Reddit. They had to send their board of directors to Nvidia, with Team Green now investigating the problem, we are told.
It remains to keep an eye on the moment, then, for the moment. Of course, there are very few RTX 5090 graphics cards there – due to a very limited stock – the problems are not likely to be widely reported, anyway.
We contacted Nvidia to see if the company can shed light on this question, and we will update this story with any answer.
