The Boston National Football League National Football League (NWSL) announced on Friday that it would change its name. The change comes after a wave of transgender reactions to a marketing campaign he abandoned in October.
The team was to be appointed Bos Nation FC, which he announced during a brand event in the fall alongside a marketing campaign that featured the slogan “Too many balls”. The slogan caused an intense backlash of the Transgender community, including an NWSL player.
A transgender player who bears the name singular Quinn, who plays for the Reign de Seattle, has spoken out against the announcement of the team’s brand image in an article on Instagram.
“Feel transphobic. Yikes,” wrote Quinn.

The team quickly abandoned the slogan, apologized for this and even thanked those who spoke against.
“We fully recognize that the contents of the campaign did not reflect the safe and welcoming environment that we strive to create for everyone, and we apologize to the LGBTQ + community and to the Trans community in particular for the injuries that we have caused,” the statement said.
“Thank you to all those who kept us responsible by calling for better. We hear you and we will, together,” said another press release.

Earlier this month, the club hired the new director of income Amina Bulman, the former brand director and strategy for NFL Washington commanders since September 2020, when the team has been in transition from its previous brand “Redskins”,
Now, the Boston -based women’s football team erases all traces of the brand that has come out of its October ad by also choosing to change its proposed name.
“The club sincerely thanks us our supporters, whose passionate voices we deeply appreciate – not only for their unshakable support, but also for their honest and critical comments,” the owner of the majority Jennifer Epstein said in a statement.
“We could not have finished this process without your contribution. We aim to build a lasting heritage which makes all our fans feel welcome, connected and proud to wear our colors and to encourage our name for the generations to come.”
The question of transplanting trans into female sports has proven to be one of the most controversial political subjects last fall and the beginning of 2025, because several federal proceedings were caused by situations involving trans athletes in the last six months.
The data suggests that the majority of Americans oppose trans inclusion into female sports, and the problem has even played in the elections of the 2024 elections.
A New York Times / Ipsos survey I have found that the vast majority of Americans, including the majority of Democrats, do not think that transgender athletes should be allowed to compete in female sports, because 79% of participants said that biological men who identify as women should not be authorized in female sports. Among the participants who identified as democrats, 67% said that transgender athletes should not be allowed to compete with women.
A National exit survey Directed by the Legislative Action Committee for women concerned for women for America revealed that 70% of moderate voters saw the question of “Donald Trump’s opposition to boys and transgender men playing sports for girls and women and transgender boys and men using bathrooms and women” as important for them.
In addition, 6% said it was everyone’s most important problem, while 44% said it was “very important”.
