Today looked like an exceptionally easy day. This makes me suspect that more delicate challenges can hide in the coming week. Not that I do not savor the chance to quickly finish a series of connections and to feel very sufficient on this subject.
But let’s be honest, it was today a breeze. Any other day, the Violet group could have switched to yellow.
The NYT even resisted the temptation to put something bizarre in the object in a collection group because, let’s face it, people collect anything.
Take me for example, I speak here as a person with collections of autographs on the back of cigarette packs, JD Salinger First Editions, Portuguese sardine boxes, 3D postcards from the 1960s (mainly poodles) and Japanese football shirts. Oh and all normal things.
Responsible for yesterday’s NYT connections (Sunday, July 27, match # 777)

- Green: outdoor events Bloc celebration, festival, picnic, tailgate
- Blue: words before “school” Elementary, grade, grammar, primary
- Violet: Associated with tips Con-Con, Halloween, Hearts, Magic Show
What is NYT connections?
Nyt Connections is one of the many increasingly popular puns produced by the New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four elements that share something in common, and each group has a different level of difficulty: green is easy, yellow a little harder, blue often quite hard and generally very difficult.
On the positive side, you do not technically need to resolve the last, because you can respond to it by an elimination process. In addition, you can make up to four mistakes, which gives you a little breathing margin.
However, it is a little more involved than something like Wordle, and there are a lot of opportunities so that the game makes you trip with towers. For example, pay attention to homophones and other word games that could disguise the answers.
It is playable for free via the NYT games site on the desktop or mobile.
