NYT TODAY Connections (game n ° 742) – Answers
The answers to today’s connections, the game # 742, are…
- Yellow: announcement of news Bulletin, flash, report, thread
- Green: names of a famous line in the declaration of independence Happiness, freedom, life, prosecution
- Blue: HBO Watch Entourage, euphoria, insecurity, succession
- Purple: what “left” could mean Disappeared, port, progressive, remaining
- My note: Moderate
- My score: 1 error
My first thought by seeing the Word Board today was that the entourage, euphoria and succession surely went together as examples of brilliant American television programs. But what to add to them? The thread, perhaps, but it lacked the final at the beginning, so it seemed unlikely. Was there a show called to leave perhaps-or was it THE Deceased? Or it could be life, because it is definitely a television program – but a British program.
In the end, I had cold feet on this and I looked elsewhere, identifying this life, this freedom and the pursuit of happiness were all names of a famous line in the declaration of independence.
It gave me an easy green, so I decided to look for the next even easier. The yellow groups are almost always groups of right words without subterfuge or poor orientation, so I looked at the board with a clear spirit and a flash, a report, a thread and a bulletin identified as examples of advertisements.
With one more necessary, I was watching the television shows again, now stripped of life and thread, and I played these three with disappeared. It gave me one “apart”, but I added another possible like any other and I did things well. It turns out that they were all HBO shows.
This has left purple and what “left” could mean, a pretty oblique group with disappeared, port, progressive and remaining.
How did you do today? Let me know in the comments below.

What is NYT connections?
Nyt Connections is one of the many increasingly popular puns produced by the New York Times. It challenges you to find groups of four elements that share something in common, and each group has a different level of difficulty: green is easy, yellow a little harder, blue often quite hard and generally very difficult.
On the positive side, you do not technically need to resolve the last, because you can respond to it by an elimination process. In addition, you can make up to four mistakes, which gives you a little breathing margin.
However, it is a little more involved than something like Wordle, and there are a lot of opportunities so that the game makes you trip with towers. For example, pay attention to homophones and other word games that could disguise the answers.
It is playable for free via the NYT games site on the desktop or mobile.
