- Duke
- COUNT
- FALCON
- DIZZY
- Cannonball
- Yardbird
- Fat
- Spangram: Jazz Cats
- My note: Hard
- My score: 1 index
Thanks to my father’s love for the old jazz, I knew most of the “cats” we were looking for today, but I owed Google Yardbird and Hawk.
For the record, the words of today refer to the pianists Duke Ellington, the Fats Domino and the Count Basie, the Cannonball Adderley Saxophonist and the stunning trumpeter Gillespie.
The last two words have been nicknames for two legendary saxophonists – Yardbird for Charlie Parker and Hawk for Coleman Hawkins.
