NYT Strands today (game #631) – the answers
The answers to today’s Strands, game #631, are…
- MARRIED
- JOCKEY
- COWBOY
- VETERINARIAN
- Farrier
- SPANGRAM: EQUESTRIAN
- My rating: Easy
- My rating: Perfect
I was galloping through today’s search until the last two words left me with a whole tangle of letters on the board.
VETERINARY isn’t the most obvious horse-themed word, but I almost managed to type it in the correct order before taking on the game’s second hardest challenge in FARRIER.
The word WRANGLER, used here for its EQUESTRIAN meaning, obviously made me think of the denim brand and its jeans – which were originally made to be worn in the saddle and with wider legs to slip over cowboy boots.
These were also, according to my Google searches, the jeans worn by Freddie Mercury of Queen and by Harrison Ford at his wedding. Fun facts, huh?
